Misty Grove
By 2farGone
'I'll catch a falling star', he said,'and put it in your heart,so if I can't be here with you, we'll never be apart. He carved their names in the old oak tree, that stood in Misty Grove, 'so if I can't be here with you, you'll never be alone. They married after high school, and started their new life, he got a job, she stayed at home, she just wanted to be his wife. Sometimes his job took him away, and she felt his absence start, then, he'd come home and hold her close and swear they'd never part. One day she felt the life in her, flutter like a butterfly,he put his hand upon her flesh, with happiness they did cry. Again his work took him afar, and he wasn't there to see,his newborn son, a life begun, was his immortality. As she looked into his tiny face, in her heart, somehow she'd known, he'd never hear his fathers' voice....he wasn't coming home. They buried him that stormy day, as sadness claimed her heart, she holds her little son to her and vows they'll never part. Now when she feels the urge to cry she visits Misty Grove, as she touches their names on the old oak tree, she knows shes not alone. Written February 1st, 2000 © on Oct 10 2001 07:46 PM PST 0 • 8
