Heroin

Put another dead man on my wall It's time to mourn again This epidemic, this self-propelled disease, Drug-inflicted desires What are they for, what purpose but to destroy The genius minds we've come to admire Oh and it feels so good- the way My mind drowned itself in ecstasy When the flow in my blood felt like silk. Then time after time again it entered me Warm, loose, but fogged my brain to sleep The day I became sick was the day I caught on And the day I threw it away. The sadness, the romanticism of The loss & need for it The time & talent wasted for it's Fatal kisses, love sicknesses Throw it all away for a day of pain Live inside my eyes now, friend What you've come to be...a sweet memory A long for a kiss, a subtle swish Of the feelings you've given me.
