The Beating

By Abilene

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Aaah, the love in this little body is rising A careening wave of lava, a burning ecstasy In my mouth I can feel the heat of my heart A thump and a bump jarring my bones into lunacy My eyes burn with their dibilitating glare Fingers moving like liquid upon ivory skin I long to expel my voice and feel Trapped inside this little body, the beating My heart & hips burning out like a wet wick The beating slows and moves out like mortar Heat pushes out of me in beads of sweat water The flame in my eye is a black burning ember I'm holding in my coming apart with heavy chain Where I found it I couldn't understand To let go, I wouldn't know where to begin It is not my hands that hold, but my hips My power remains in the beating of my heart Thumping and bumping my brain into bits Cold thoughts could it be, not really, maybe But a heat so passionate as if to melt the devil I feel this lava and I'm consistantly earning The flint in my eyes, responsive to the heat Flowing the kiss from my lips and tongue Tranquility in numbers, come rolling in beats Written April 3rd, 2002 © on Apr 05 2002 04:59 AM PST   0 • 16
