Today I saw the Sun rise It lifted itself above a high Mountain, but that night Mountain taunted Sun, telling him he won't rise above him ever again. Mountain convinced Sun he never will again. Mountain boasted of his splendor, of how man see's him mightier than Sun. Mountain told Sun stories of how Man feared Mountain, and that how death came to men who tried to conquer him. The mountain told Sun, don't rise above me again. Because you can't. Sun setteling behind the Earth, became filled with fear. He no longer wanted to be the Sun. He was afraid to rise and decided not to. But Moon noticed sadness in Sun. He knew he was somewhat dicsouraged. Moon asked Sun what was bothering him. Sun shrugged and he lowered his eyes in shame saying, I can no longer rise above the mighty Mountain. For he is so much greater than I. Moon becoming angry and told Sun to look him in the eyes. Why do you fear Mountain. He doesn't have any courage. Sun told Moon the stories and facts mountain had told him. Moon looked at Sun in compassion saying, Mountain doesn't say those words because they are true but because they are false. If his words were true then he wouldn't have to tell you. You would know. That is the nature of things. Mountain does nothing mighty. He just sets there. Sun, if were not for you I would not shine. If it were not for you life could not exist. And Mountain wouldn't be so great. Man does fear Mountain. But they respect and Love you. Look around you, the planets are your servants. They know this and so does Mountain. It's time for you to rise, now go! Sun rose, Mountain said nothing. And he never did again. Because he knew. Written October 18th, 2001 © on Oct 18 2001 10:54 AM PST 0 • 10
