My Mother

By AmandaLee

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Sometimes I remember A distant memory Of me climbing into your lap as a child And it seems like centuries Although I never understood Your ways or how you thought I always looked up to you And it was comfort that I sought As I grow into a woman I seek another woman's advice And only you as my mother Could teach me, as your vice I know we can be as different As night and day itself But I am still learning And finding things within myself You will always be a part of me A part of me like no other That voice that's always with me You will always be my mother Written February 6th, 2002 © on Feb 06 2002 03:09 AM PST   0 • 13
