Surrounded by Angels

By Angels by Richard J Sereday Jr

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Surrounded by angels, are we all, unknowingly in contact day to day, but you were so blind you couldn't see that I was to you sent from heaven above. Out to you I did reach time and again, and you saw these wings that would carry you away, but did not believe that they were real. At your door I stood and knocked and again, though you would not let me in, behind your secret walls. The time, it came, for me to fly, back to heaven from which I came, my mission having failed, and as you watched me fly away your eyes, you could not believe for these wing of mine were real as was my mission, sent to you. And as upon high I did ascend you could only wish that you could have seen this place by my side where you were always meant to be. Written November 10th, 2001 © on Nov 10 2001 03:27 AM PST   0 • 10
