Nocturne to ebon eyes
I saw the sun one morning. It smiled and seemed to say. Why do you shield your eyes as you go on your way? Do you not gaze longingly toward the rising moon? Do the thoughts of falling stars send your heart to swoon? I humbly replied prey do not plague me so the reason to display. For love rides wings of fantasy till stolen by the day. All through the night my mind is free to dream. My memory ambles along a running silvered stream. Once I loved a gentle girl with eyes of ebon black. Only in the dark of night will ever she come back. We walked in dreams and fields of stars. Two lovers hand in hand. She triped along beside me. Sweet scented was her hair. I hear her tinkling voice float lightly in the air. She seems to fade as each star goes out at dawn. She slips back to my memory as silent as a fawn.
