Unwrap it!

By Barb Davidson

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

It’s a cult, a load of rubbish; it’s religion they say, Well maybe there’s something to be found in those ways, It’s all Taoism and meditation, enough to make you cry, But it’s been here for centuries, now I wonder why? How can you believe it? You’re a woman with sense! Well I’ve unwrapped it, found the core, the basic essence, Now what are you saying, have you gone completely mad? I thought so at one time, but now, I know life’s not bad. But this stuff is for hippies, all dressed like the dead! Yes, I used to think so, but I know what they said, But snakes in your spine, what nonsense they spout? It’s the answer to a question, that will need to come out, So tell me this thing, Kundalini, what mind rot! It’s just a name for the knowledge that you haven’t got, So Chakra’s what are they, and how will I know? It’s the wrapping, around the art, of simply letting go. Ok, I give in woman, now tell me how do you know? It’s because I’m a person who has finally let go, I took all the religions, I stripped them right bare, Removed tinsel and rubbish and found something there. There’s basically nothing, to tell them apart, They come from the soul, they come from the heart, So take the Tantric readings right back to the core Compared with the others, it’s no less or no more. At the heart of these religions there’s one thing in kind, That the health of your body lives deep in your mind, So relax, if you’re looking at each of these ways, Pick one whose name suits you and throw the others away. Now pull off the petals and deep in the heart, The truth is there waiting, so go make a start, Listen to the answers that arrive in your head, Ignore all the things that the lead feet have said.
