Time Out
By barrowlass
The mirror shows meunadorned.Fraying at the edges, past my prime. And still I say to everything-'I'll do it - if I have the time.'But time scatterslike summer rain, whichdries up and disappears, evaporates into formless mist, clouding bygone years.Time was when time itself stood still;each moment savoured on youthful tongues.Inhaled as a priceless essence, enwrapped in chiming song. Now time races by, each moment slipslike sand between my fingers. And only my heart and soul and mindknow how the memories linger.
