angst
By benafim
Anxiety. I saw it, the evil shark of my dreams, A shadow in clear blue water Waiting just for me. In stark terror I stood still, waist deep, As the unavoidable came closer and Closer. For reason beyond my trembling mind, It turned and swam back to its murky Depth. To where I thought I would be dragged, Screaming and cursing, To a watery grave. Back on land I sank down on warm sand And thanked the sun for its Life giving rays. As horror abated, a nucleus of fear Remained, for I know that one day Darkness will eat my life.
