sharing a moment

Sharing a Moment With sticky fingers a girl of three touched my knee and offered me a sweet which I accepted but didn’t eat in case she wanted it back I was sitting in my café at the time reading the news and since I don’t know what to say to a three year old child returned to my paper. I was deeply moved by the child’s gift that letters on the paper blurred. The girl said something I didn’t catch, then went back to her mum. I only looked up when mother and daughter left they both smiled and waved. I smiled too and when they were safely out blew my nose. It was the pleasure and pain of this little encounter that I tried to share with you, but you are always so busy and bristling. You said something about “Spilt Milk”, and returned to your PC. Guess I’m better off keeping my sorrow and pleasure to myself. Written February 23rd, 2002 © on Feb 23 2002 05:43 AM PST 0 • 1
