In a Field of Fire
By Benj
The moon rises over a field of fire as the wind sweeps across the flames, The rain falls and the light grows higher while she walks along her path of pains. A tear falls from her saddened eyes fear lingers in her broken sighs here she stops and here she lies near the end she waits and cries, The beat of rain, in her head, does pound defeats the hope that was around streets of thought now lost from found heats the memories now coming down, And night pulls over its blackened shade light from the stars begins to fade Fright is here with dues unpaid sight is found inlaid in jade, So she walks away from the pouring rain while the moon sets on a field of fire, Burning up the remaining pain and leaving behind her only desire.1996, Written October 9th, 2001 © on Oct 09 2001 02:43 PM PST 10 • 0 • 8
