The meaning of christmas
By billy
What does christmas mean in far off places To different religions, and different races Do they celebrate the same as we do Do their christmas wishes all come true Christmas trees glisten, with tinsel, and lights And brighten up the dark winter nights Holly, and the ivy, blend in with the mistletoe While the kids are having fun, playing in the snow Unwrapped christmas paper, strewn across the floor While seasonal decorations, hang upon the door Rows of christmas cards, display a winter scene While classic hollywood films, dominate the TV screen All these things, are part and parcel Of this festive day All around the world, people celebrate In their own special way. But celebrations differ, round the world that's true Not everyone is as fortunate,as me and you. As we sit down to a five course meal That leaves us all feeling as stuffed As the turkey that we just carved Let us spare a crumb,if not a thought For the millions who have starved.
