\"ONLY CHILD\"

By birdnutt

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

''ONLY CHILD'' I lay in the silence of a huge empty room, through my window I gaze at the beautiful moon. The house is as quiet as you'll ever see, for brothers or sisters they'll never be. In the quiet of night I feel so alone, I yearn for a sister to call my own. As I slip into slumber and off in my dreams, I see a mountain of children with laughter and screams. I pray for the day that it will soon come, a home that is filled with more than just one. Written July 9th, 2001 © on Jul 09 2001 02:27 PM PST   0 • 13 • 1
