The Secret of the Lake - Sonnet

By BitGit

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

* No one recalled the small rill It was lost from sight long years neglected When the dam stoppered up the lakes’ fill The course drowned as waters collected But the rill, though forgotten, still flowed That the lake of the dam reach capacity The little rill swamped but forebode Exceeding the dam’s tenacity When the dam burst came the day The waters of the lake released In torrent the dam born away Breached broken and tumbling surceased So the rill was restored as before Babbling it’s way free once more * Written January 14th, 2002 © on Feb 11 2002 10:57 PM PST    0 • 12 • 10
