Best of Both Worlds (Racism)
By Blah Blah
Wisdom comes to me from families One Black One White My strength is manifested from my struggles Of being neither Black nor White But both I can see the best in both worlds because I am so closely connected and questions arise in me about prejudice, racism, and stero-types Do Black people really know? what it's like to be part of the most hated race in the world? Do they see how much a white person has to struggle to prove that they got where they are because they DESERVE it and not because they are WHITE? Do White people really know? what it's like to have unsolicited stero-types attached to their skin? Do they know what it's like to walk into a store and to be followed around so they don't steal? Do they know what it's like to deal with racial profiling almost every where they go? Racism is still here and it's still a problem! I wish people would stop labeling others by the color of their skin but rather by the size of their heart! I can see both sides, because I am connected to a Black Family and to a White Family And I see the beauty in both! Written March 14th, 2002 © on Mar 14 2002 05:05 AM PST 0 • 9
