Heloise

By Breelynn

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

There once was a witch named Heloise Whose broom couldn't fly above your knees. She tried every trick. She even chanted and kicked. But, her stubborn old broom just seemed to be doomed. So she drank some champagne and danced in the rain Till her sadness seemed to be squelched. The next thing she knew, she opened her mouth, and out came a loud healthy belch. "Excuse me," She said, as she hopped on her broom. "I think it is time to go to my room." But, to her surprise, the broom started to rise. Higher than your knees. Higher than the trees. Higher than the towers. Beyond the rain showers. Heloise flew to the moon that night, and never again did she have such a plight.Written October 2nd, 2001 © on Oct 02 2001 05:10 AM PST, Traci DeGraffenreid
