Different
By Britty
If I wasn't born this way Would my life be different? Would people still call me "that word"? Mutter it under their breaths "That word" full of controversy Would I be taken more seriously? Would people see me as a humam? Rather than a suspect? No. Probably not Each race deals with its own stereotype People often ridiculed for bringing up the past How they were oppresed Their long fight for independence "Why bring that up?" they say It's over with, right? Wrong. Many still fight for their respect everyday It never ends If we all just knew what it's like To be different Who knows Maybe the world would be normal. But wait.... What's normal?yeah.... this a challenge poem i wrote. Written April 21st, 2002 © on Apr 21 2002 06:37 AM PST 0 • 9
