Crumbled Stone
By butch
I took a walk amongst the markers to visit my kinsman in his resting place. the stones neatly laid greensward trimmed flowers softly placed monuments of remembrance shining out to me as if to say "I was here before do you remember?" I looked upon them this son, this wife this daughter, this man and, I knew love for that is a legacy of life and time. but, as I ambled and reminisced I came to a section with no care. the cairns fallen the grass unmown the names rubbed gone from view. forgotten lives memories left behind dust in time forever overlooked adoration in the past. I wondered who lay there had they fortune or, misfortune. then I knew that we are only what we give. love is our heritage our time is precious. so, spread your love give it freely and, time will carry your name forever.........
