The battle done; fires glow again reflecting weary faces dirty and splattered blood and pain; fewer this time; what were their names those brave heroes seeking glory and finding none silence now; no boisterous talk only quiet cogitation too soon, recall fatigue and relief weapons at feet: stacked away no longer glorious ignoble, plain tainted by death proof of mettle; marred by doubt weak and burnt vacant eyes and hollow heart vestige of war; lost souls forever defiled gone the innocence gone the child visions no more........
