Love Given
By butch
Impaled am I, by this love that was given, Received by one whose heart has been driven, Was lost in a wilderness of persistent lonely dreams, And, taken to the depths of times murky streams, A withered heart breeds a withered soul, A life in seclusion has it's own sad toll, A song of regret, passes from day to day, A constant remembrance of the hymns we play, But, love found the way to me, I rejoice, It fills the void and gives a new voice, My heart, though damaged, begins anew, A once pale life, regains forgotten hue, This love is mine, and, I cherish this burning, At last, the way to subdue my yearning, I give to you my love, my life, and, my time, To teach you my meaning in this spare rhyme, Love is the only way..........
