I hang up the phonecall my grandmother, call my sister,my mom's outta townshe's out with her cousinthey're having fun, shopping and lookingfor things on saleso i leave the message.Hi could you tell her to call meupon her returnThen i light up a cigaretteletting it burn.Thinking to myself, i've gotta be calm, composed though i feel sickGotta take my mind off thisMaybe some musicTurn on the radio some guy singing about his father It almost brought me to tearstelling me what he wished he said,in the living years. The phone rings once and i've already got it,it's in my hand and i answerHello? Hi happy thanksgiving, how's everything going?do you miss me?Well yes i do, but i'm calling for a reasonOur thanksgiving is cut short, there will be no thanking this seasonHe's gone, he left on the sofa,in his sleep he just stopedand went somewhere else. How can i say this i've gotta tell his daughter,We just went out shopping, had some fun girls' stylenow i have to tell her that, you'll be walking her down the isleAs much as i hated and love him,he was the only one i had.i didn't say it then so now,i love you dad.
