Moonlight and Swollen Eyes
By CarlIVPoetry
Across the water Reflections cracked preciously on liquid Bloodshot and overflowing with saline Full moons on your half-split smile Along this beach Sparkling full harsh on sand Crystal clear and blow dried by delicate ocean breezes Quarter moon against two glistening lips On top a sand dune torn to pieces by the wind whipped grass pulled closed to a squint Half-moon pierces through your fingertips Fifty years should pass on and the fires down these white sands will extinguish tides will rise to wash away the childs architecture thousands of memories will become here just like my recollections of you... Forever etched in my mind, my heart, and in your swollen eyes. Written February 23rd, 2002 © on Feb 23 2002 08:58 AM PST 0 • 8
