Sunset Trainwreck
By CarlIVPoetry
Engulfed in solar, swallow it all. Twelve cars evaporate in the light. With the reflection off cold steel I can only imagine your face is pressed against the glass. Waving of my hand seems to be involuntary, like my pulse, or breathing. No matter how hard I try, just can't seem to control it. Maybe If you took the earlier train or maybe If the sun would've set I could have saved you. Sometimes I find myself blaming the density of the trees. Praying autumn never struck and there was still enough foilage to knock out more of the blinding glow. Even though, rendered blind, the sound haunts me. Like the devil screaming behind my ears. Tearing metal. So many people took that track to Heaven. but as I walk along those rails... all I recall is the Hell. Written March 27th, 2002 © on Mar 27 2002 03:25 AM PST 0 • 1
