To Johnnie

Night is here, and here is night, The hot pain in my head is bright, The fire is ready.  The chicken is     pared... Remember the happy night we shared? Roll back in your madness, oh, trains    of time, On tracks that are rusty,     on hills that all climb Your light flashing brightly away     from today Past stations of joy we once     stopped at...to stay... Come back to that night in the     mountains so cool... Stop at the Inn we once stopped at,     my fool... Sit near me in darkness In clothes that are new... Oh, pay the man gladly...     Come with my blushes. Hear gravelly crunches? Clicked key in that lock? "What a pretty room for a honeymoon.) magic oasis in desert of time. What did we come for?  I forgot... Why is it gone? Why do we go on and on To equidistant opposites of     the universe... In unexpressive     silence.
