You are in the distant world, Your thoughts around me on the earth! Calm was the day Reciting of psalms in nearby church on; Sounds around deter not my mind! Hot sun could reach me not As under the tree sitting am I! Children in play, gay and free; Distant things to mind remind, Nearby happenings unnoticed by mind, Alone I am, amidst the crowd Like a king without crown, In meditation of love for you, Revolving around you, like the earth around the sun! Birds in a row flying in the sky To reach the land of summer camp; Ducks in the lake squawking sounds make, Herd of sheep following each other meek, To reach the lake to quench the thirst! Your touch, the cool winds remind, With fragrance of flowers varied, your songs sweet surround, Myself enjoying your company divine Hoping to spend rest of my life likewise Till the day I meet you in Heaven!
