Werewolf
Night draws its dark cloak over me As I sit by the dying cinders I weep for what would never be A vision of you still lingers. I sang a lullaby for you When you lay in your bed at night You laughed and said I love you too But I knew that it wasn't quite right. The backs of your hands were covered with hair You fixed my eyes with a terrible stare The moon shone brightly; you howled for fun And when day came you hid from the sun You killed my friends, your mum and dad You just couldn't help it I know you're not bad. And then one black night in bed "I fancy puppies," is what you said. I lay there so quiet and still To have puppies wasn't my will So during the bright sunlit day I left your bed and crept away.
