The Dance

By Christie

The Dance Dancing with my shadow In the light of day Leaning back and twirling Losing myself in our play. Dancing with my shadow Under a full moon Moving softer now, seductive Humming a little tune. I cannot see my shadow His bulk is smothering me I struggle for the next breath But cannot fight my way free. Shadows loom and melt away My shadow does the same Sometimes he entraps my soul Other times he is my friend. Written April 21st, 2002 © on Apr 21 2002 05:32 AM PST   18 • 0 • 1
