'Conjugal Visit'

funny how the slightest detail never escapes you. i think that's why you loved me and maybe why you left me too. but, last night you quizzed me relentlessly about strange tire tracks in the mud-soft driveway (perhaps the meter reader?). you observed smutty remains powdering the fireplace that i ALWAYS sweep spotless (sorry, proccupied with our separation). you even commented on the flowering tops of the queen's tear towering on the porch (said they needed a splash of water). so, how the hell did you not notice the frost glittering on my lips when you kissed this corpse you once called wife.
