Angel

ANGEL (Dedicated to SolitaryTearOfAnAngel) Never seen and never  heard, Nor answers to the spoken word But touches you with  whispered breath And harbors you in times of stress She hovers over you in sleep In hours when dreams are real and deep And spreads her wings above your bed And shines a halo round your head She stands behind in vigil’s hour Protecting this most fragile flower She walks before the path you plod And reaches out the hand of God In restless nights of sorrow’s  gloom She shines an opalescent moon And casts a light upon your soul That you may see the inner goal Then in a dream it comes to you This sorrow that is real and true It must be lived, it must be felt The pain and stress that you’ve been dealt  For sorrow is a valid part As joys that linger in your heart In time your eyes will shine anew  In all the love surrounding you The grief turns into memories And whispers through the swaying trees The past that’s etched into the eye Is joy and love in days gone by If I could have an angel lay A wish upon this coming day I’d ask that you be wrapped in white Of angel feathers soft and light That splendid tunes would dry a tear An angel harp to touch your ear An opal moon to shine you light A whispered breath to say good-night Written February 21st, 2002 © on Feb 20 2002 08:57 PM PST   0 • 12
