Billowing Sails

Billowing Sails Billowing sails in the soft morning breeze Capture the scent of the blue surging seas Only the wind and the water and I Know of the freedom below mist sky Skimming through waters of bottomless depth Feeling the wonder of life in each breath Changing direction as sea winds will blow Shifting the wind driven sails as I go Nothing can settle my spirit’s unrest Like soaring on sails over silvery crest With wings of an eagle I float in the wind Relinquishing sorrowful feelings within The sea is my freedom. The waves , my delight In redness of sunset or blackness of night All of this pleasure runs deep through the vein ‘Til sails turn my heavy heart homeward again If I could live all of life’s seasons afloat Upon open seas in a safe sturdy boat Weathered by time and by wind driven rain Sheltered from sorrows most deeply carved pain I’d go where life leads me on waters of blue For joy is there drifting in memories of you And only the breezes , the sky and the sea Know of the measure of love within me Written March 14th, 2002 © on Mar 13 2002 10:35 PM PST   0 • 12
