Embrace of a Poet
By Cinara
Embrace of a Poet A greater debt I’ve never paid Than bitter thorns upon me laid More dark the canopy of strife Than all the twilights of my life My tears have worn a weathered hole Into the deepness of my soul Where rivers still meander through A canyon of the deepest blue A poet wrapped in simple grace The words of truth in warm embrace And granted payer of the toll A river’s ride through misty soul I saw a stream in deepest wells Of blessings churned in joyful swells And in the currents of the stream Still flowed the essence of a dream Let waters flow, let sorrow pass The joys I know will far outlast The tears that dwindle to an end Swept by the words of poet’s pen Written March 9th, 2002 © on Mar 09 2002 07:51 AM PST 0 • 12
