Erasing the Universe
By Cinara
Erasing the Universe Golden light sifts through the heartache for only a few soft smiles worth of you, then the sun sets again dipping beyond the reach of contentment leaving an opal moon rising in laughter A cold oyster-colored ball freshly dipped in a pungent sea slowly ascending out of the cold, tainted brine, it’s illumination not warm enough to dry tears that drip of midnight sorrow. The stars twinkle in delight, friendly with the moon, and I feel deserted by the night sky that I once cherished as they kept me in their spell, holding captive all of my most splendid dreams now, only a cardboard ceiling with a hand painted sphere that wears a costumed halo, surrounded by a trillion winking eyes spattered across the night, laughing and blinking stage props of a tragic comedy in the theater of despair, laughing and winking at me until the dawn wipes the wetness from my eyes with a few exquisite moments of love and erases the rest of the universe Written March 17th, 2002 © on Mar 16 2002 09:29 PM PST 0 • 1
