Here He Comes Again
By Cinara
Here He Comes Again What is sorrow doing on my doorstep once again? I have no other choice but to allow him to step in His old familiar ramblings are tales I know so well Painful recollections of events he likes to tell What is sorrow doing in the verses that I pen? I was so certain that his face would not show up again And now he’s back to torment me, to wake me in the night To lace my words with teardrops in the poetry I write Why does sorrow cling to me, he’s not a friend of mine But ventures back into my life again from time to time I think this time he’ll hit me hard, but I’m prepared to fight And not fall victim to his phantom in the dark of night Sorrow comes intruding and expects to fill the whole But he should know the depth already carved into my soul There’s lots of space in sorrow’s well, the hollow’s deep and dark I doubt this time if he will even reach the half-way mark Written February 20th, 2002 © on Feb 20 2002 08:11 AM PST 0 • 1
