If I Were to Choose

By Cinara

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

If I would have to choose among them all Those moments in my life of greatest worth That made my heart stand still in silent awe I’d have to say the splendor of the earth But most fulfilling was a child’s birth If I would choose the most delightful day The one which celebrated life anew I’d say the laughter in a child’s play To me was like a song from heavens blue But grandest was the day that I met you If I were made to choose one glorious night That truly lit each corner of my soul I would recall the glow of candlelight From which God’s hand reached out to hold my own For in the dark I suffered all alone But if I were to choose the best I’ve lived The pinnacle of all that I’ve been blessed I’d have to say the love that purely sieved Through sands of life’s exquisite happiness Bestowed to me by you, the very best Written March 19th, 2002 © on Mar 19 2002 12:24 AM PST   0 • 12
