If Not For Tears

If Not for Tears What is this sorrow, but a fallen tear That washes heartache onto pleasure’s face As eyes unveil the misery and fear Unleashing pain held in an inner place Then, what is joy, but teardrops in the eye Cascading over waterfalls of strife That all may for a passing moment spy Through laughter’s open window pane of life What is love, but moments when we weep For sentiments we harbor in the heart The joys and sorrow that sogently creep Into the night when lovers are apart If not for tears, our hearts would never prime What’s hidden in the deepest wells of time Written March 15th, 2002 © on Mar 15 2002 01:23 AM PST   0 • 10
