In Between (Challenge Poem)

By Cinara

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

In Between In chasms twenty fathoms deep On ancient floor sea creatures creep Descendants from a former age Surviving turn of every page Translucent blues like gemstones gleam In currents of the ocean stream Where porpoise glides in water’s flow As forces swiftly move below On surfaces of sparkling green Atop the oceans sunlit sheen Above the fathoms lies a bed That glows at dusk in sunset red ‘Tis here I float upon a craft And watch the sea from vessel’s aft As wind and water touch my face I know full well my proper place Above the sea, the purple sky Fades into dark as hours go by A sea of stars then veils the black With twinkling lights from eons back From ocean’s depth to heaven’s height From sea to sea in moonlit night A man can only dream a dream And live in Nature’s “in between” Written March 8th, 2002 © on Mar 07 2002 09:26 PM PST   0 • 10
