Lady of the Night

By Cinara

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Lady of Night Softly she enters in veils of white lace Lightly she treads on the footprint of space Slowly to pure crystal songs she will spin And tap on your window of dreams to come in Lift up the shades to the songs of the night She fills your eyes with a dance of delight One who awakens the sleep from your breast Will give you new life as an honored bequest Waiting to feel the exquisite soft kiss She caresses your skin with a joy such a this Let her come lightly to one who can slice Into depths of her silver white curtain of ice Open your window, the show has begun The little stars silently fall one by one She whispers to you as she touches your face And treads, oh so lightly, in footsteps of grace She is a lady of beauty and charm She sweeps the pain from the chambers of harm So lovely her slipper, so flowing her gown She follows the ways of the sky and the ground In all of my dreams there is nothing I know That can equal the beauty of fresh falling snow Written February 11th, 2002 © on Feb 11 2002 11:17 AM PST   0 • 10
