Robin on a Twig

Robin on a Twig It must have rained a bit last night Perhaps a drizzle soft and light The earth was wet, the sky was gray As I awoke from slumbering dream From locust twig a robin leaned And looking down upon the green With lengthy wing he swept away In sudden haste of robin’s whim He reappeared upon the limb Unable now to sing his hymn With treasure found, he went his way A dangling worm he spied and caught Resourcefully his needs are sought What wondrous creature God has wrought As I watch through the window pane Another season come and gone My mind for moments dwells upon The winter past, the sorrow gone The robin came from far away It’s time for me to move along Written April 13th, 2002 © on Apr 13 2002 12:05 AM PST   0 • 10
