Challenge Description: Write me a poem about your favorite fruit. I want to see a lot of visual imagery in this & delicious descriptions (teehee) have fun! Sweet, Sweet Wine The drink of sweet serenity The vineyard brewer’s cup of tea In crystal stemware’s sparkling shine Is poured a mellowed ageless wine The drink of friendship, love and life The brew that quenches pain and strife Stirs all the passion of its balm Into a mix of midnight calm The rim of goblet slowly tips To pour its fragrance on your lips A tea that stewed in barrel’s well Where smooth aromas churn and swell The grapes that rendered such a brew To warm the blood inside of you Were grown with care from nourished earth Then crushed for fruits of other worth The future potion for the mind Now hangs in clusters from the vine To be the purple, red and white Of midnight moon and star’s delight My laden goblet lifted up Saluting fruits of potion’s cup Here’s to the grape that has bestowed From vine’s abundant mother lode The passion held within my glass, The rendered joys as moments pass My cup contains a vintage tea Of land and earth, of sky and sea In soft delight of warming brew My mind recalls sweet thoughts of you The balm that settles on my lips Is savored taste of tender kiss Written February 19th, 2002 © on Feb 18 2002 08:58 PM PST   0 • 10
