The Journey

The Journey More miles tread than years to come More battles fought than have been won More sorrow dealt to spirit’s breast Than joy to fall in comfort’s nest More pain endured on hardship trails Than wind to billow golden sails The footprints left of bitter strife Were but the stepping stones of life Within the course of human deeds Were planted life’s most precious seeds And now the aging mind recalls The happiness within these walls More dreams were sought than bridges crossed More love was gained than ever lost More beauty to the present day More pleasures strewn along the way Written February 18th, 2002 © on Feb 17 2002 10:36 PM PST   0 • 10
