Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The Snake Charmer With snake charming poems he captures your ear With spicy devices, entices you near They stimulate, fascinate, captivate you Elevate, saturate all that you do How cleverly verses allure and secure Your attention that’s sure to endure evermore He captures with words so phonetically sound Magnetic, aesthetic, poetically bound He writes with a magical, mystical quill Chauvinistic advances artistically thrill Hypnotic, exotic, erotic and deep A soft sweet narcotic to put you to sleep They mesmerize, tranquilize, paralyze you And you fantasize dreams that you know will come true Hypnotized, mesmerized, totally charmed Captured, enraptured, completely disarmed How bewitching a poet whose talents transcend To seducing your heart with the stroke of a pen But he thinks you’ll appear at the wave of his wand The problem before you, is how to respond If the snake charmer thinks he can have and eat cake And you don’t favor playing the part of a snake You need not respond, there is nothing to say Just show a few fangs, dear, he’ll slither away Written March 19th, 2002 © on Mar 18 2002 11:45 PM PST   0 • 14
