The Will of the Wind

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The Will of the Wind You can’t always blueprint the course of the day With schemes and designs to determine the way For there are some forces from which you can’t hide It’s the will of the wind, and the drift of the tide Sometimes you go forward with zest in your soul Determined to reach that one reachable goal Then unforeseen happenings come into play It’s the flow of the waters, the storms of the day Some days you wake up with your heart full of dread With sorrowful melodies fixed in your head Then the requiem turns to a jovial tune It’s the tilt of the earth, and the pull of the moon You cannot predict what tomorrow will bring What dance you will dance and what song you will sing For no matter how great your resolve from within It’s the drift of the tide, and the will of the wind Written March 12th, 2002 © on Mar 11 2002 07:59 PM PST   0 • 10
