A Child Like You
By CloudRaven
I awoke in this dark, damp place. Rubbed my eyes agar to meet the world. Mama cuddles, comforts and loves me. Tells me to always remember that I can do anything. Tells me that the world can be hurtful to children like me. Cause pain for no reason, hate children like me for no cause. Why would they do that I question. She has no answers, Just cuddles, comforts and loves me. Tells me to always remember that I can do anything. Then they came and Mama left this cold, cruel world. I’m left shivering and cold. No one to cuddle, comfort or love me. Now I sit alone in this dark place, with the world crashing on my head. Memories of childhood flash by. They hate for no reason. Hurt with no cause. All because we are like us and they are like them. Then I remember what Mama always said. I can do anything. I pull myself together, Ready now to face this big, cold, cruel world. I will hold my head up high. I am proud of who I am. I am a child of my mother. A child of G*d. A child of Earth, And I could do anything. Written March 31st, 2002 © on Mar 31 2002 12:59 AM PST 0 • 9
