Love?
By CloudRaven
The flicker of the burning flame lit up your deep brown eyes, they looked almost cooper in the pale moonlight. I stared at the picture in my hand over and over, your face, eyes, lips called to me. And yet here I was millions of miles away another country long for you. At this instance it hit me. It hit me so hard I almost fell to the ground. I was in love, me in love. Must me the desert heat! Me in love could never be and yet I held your picture in my shaking hands. Long to touch you and yet unable. Could you be the one? The love that last eternally? The one they write fairytales about, the one that ends and they lived happily ever after. I took one last look at the picture, at you. Folded it up and shoved it back in my fatigue pocket. Me in love, could never be! And yet I do believe it is so.long version of a poem I wrote for a challenge called "YOU". I think I like this one better, what do you think?
