Somebody Changed the Channel

By coyote

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I was watching the world as the clock ticked by. The picture was clear, not a cloud in the sky. Just enjoying the scenery that filled up my eyes-- then somebody changed the channel. Just a second ago it was clear, blue and bright. And now, of a sudden, it's darker than night... and the noise that it made caused a terrible fright-- 'cause somebody changed the channel. Attacked from behind by a cowardly clan. Destroying and killing as only they can. Sacrificing so many just to carry out a plan, Please, somebody, change the channel. Now the ashes have settled; our spirits have, too. But we have to rise up and then start anew, for the flag's flying higher for me and for you... and it's flying on every channel. 9/17/01 Written September 19th, 2001 © on Sep 19 2001 11:37 AM PST   0 • 11
