Holy Bewildered

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

But what of lust, evil, pain – God’s despair or Satan’s fame? Do you see love in the whore’s response, beauty in a murderer’s eye? Is it tender youth or lack of faith that blind you to our Christ? Is life not war with a wicked spouse, a chance to fight for the Good? Did the Lord not call for the walls to fall, the Jerichoan’s blood? While you proclaim, “God’s not on high” but right here in your palm, the wandering arm of the rich man’s plague smiles as it sings your psalm. This does not reflect any point of view of mine which I would not try to do in a piece like this, anyway. Mostly just wordplay. Written January 19th, 2002 © on Jan 19 2002 07:32 AM PST   0 • 9
