(The Reality Of Perception - Did It Happen?)
By Danw
If a tree falls and no-one is their to here it did it fall at all? When brave heroes of war come home to their once peaceful homes How must they feel to hear such corrupted words spoken from their loved ones Disrespect oozing out of every crack in the wall Did it even happen at all? War time veteran becomes no more than just the hero of the day His friends who fought on and lived to see him prevail respect him But what of others, surely ‘The scars I bear are for my patriotism and fighting” As with the tree only few can see that this man, this hero has lost more than his limbs Somehow by defending his homeland, respecting his queen and loving his family He has become both mentally and physically less of a man You can not petition this mans intentions once held by ignoring his sacrifice If the man bears the scars of war, he not only fought but he became a hero Just as when the tree falls, it does not fall silent The tree comes crashing down to an almighty thud that sends shock waves through the ground into the heart and soul of everyone around it. Does the tree not provide oxygen, oxygen allows us to live The tree is our hero and as heroes fall side by side they may be not visible But the respect felt for them will forever scar their people mentally Written December 22nd, 2000 © on Feb 28 2002 06:06 AM PST 10 • 0
