It's Not What You Would Think

We stand alone in the dark sable street,We walk alone as the clouds begin to weep and millions of tears fall helpless onto our unforgiven heads. Many beads drip off of your beautiful golden hair as the moon's aura illuminates it and the nights wind tosses it.With the little light that the moon gives off I can see your innocent blue eyes,Crystal and as clear as can be,Azure in the nights focus,Beautiful to me in every way.You say so softly, 'Even if that's the way you feel then I will still always be there.'I walk away bold and brand new,And call out from behind me with all your heart, 'I will still love you always,'And a single tear rolled down my cheek as I rode home crying,Wishing I could help you,Wishing I could need you.You told me you still loved me,But now I know you lied as you stared deeply into my eyes that glazed winter night. You don't love me,You love the pillow,The shoulder and my gifts. You loved nothing of me except the fact that I loved you.I tell you now and don't forget,I'll never condone you,I take back all the tears I wept.I tell you now and I know you won't forget,I never really loved you and that I now know,I loved who you used to be when we swung out on the swing,I loved the way you laughed and the way you smiled when you thought nobody was watching.I loved who you were,But that was but a lie,Now I love another,And you are nothing... but the rug beneath my feet,That I step on just for you.
