A Memory to Treasure
By dianes
I still remember the first time we met how you smiled even through your tiredness My plane was late and I didn't know that you were waiting as the day did go. When I got the message that you were there I dropped my suitcases All I could do was stare. The clerk said I guess you're surprised she could see the shock in my eyes I was so nervous to place that call Never even thought to look at the clock on the wall. Three AM but I couldn't sleep till I finally met you and our eyes would meet. I placed my finger over the peephole on the door Wanting us to see each other the first time face to face It was a memory time will never erase. The smile that came across your face as you opened the door and said I was late Of course I never knew you would be there You drove so far to show your friendship and that you cared. Such a short time that we had together But it's a memory I will always treasure. Written April 21st, 2002 © on Apr 21 2002 04:34 AM PST 0 • 8
